I had a friend of mine that always would seek my advice. The only problem is, he would seek my advice on a legal matters. For the record, I am not an attorney. But what I can offer is good sound advice. It seemed that I was the source of choices for him that he chose not to make. I really felt like he wanted to validate his own poor choices by using me as a sounding board and when that didn’t happen for him, he decided to opt out of listening to anything that I was saying. It was with this in mind that I ended up writing this song. I also chose to walk away from that relationship. When it’s not healthy for you to be involved in a relationship with people it makes sense to be able to cut ties with them. If all they’re doing is attempting to use you to be able to get their way and using you to justify making some poor choices. So a hint of advice if you have a friend that is making poor choices, give them advice. If they don’t listen, don’t give them advice anymore. You can also choose to walk away if the relationship is detrimental. Don’t be a Fair weather friend, but also know your worth.
Lyrics
Verse I
Have you ever had that one friend?
Never listen to a word you said
You gave your best advice, but at least you tried
Don’t think twice, they’ll never hear your advice, they’re singing
Chorus
La La La La La La La La La La La
La lah, not listening
La La La La La La La La La La La
La lah
La La La La La La La La La La La
La lah, not listening
Verse II
I can’t seem to see the situation
It keeps flying right over their head
When your life is filled with frustration
Keep on singing this in your head, you’re singing, you’re singing
To Chorus
Bridge
It goes in one ear and out the other.
Nothing seems to stick
You can’t remove the way they think
Open up your ears and apply what you hear
Chorus
